Demographics

In the summer of 2000, the North Texas Presbytery commissioned Peter Dishman to do a quick survey of the Hispanic population in North Dallas. Here you can read his summary of general US Hispanic demographics as well as specific data concerning Dallas Hispanic demographics and some of the churches that are trying to reach the communities that those demographics represent.

Although the 2000 report contains some valuable information, it needs to be supplemented and updated by Census 2000 data which became available in 2001. Among articles which might be of interest in the Hispanic section of Census 2000 (or on the DFW census site) are:

The Hispanic Population - Census 2000 Brief (5/2001)
Map of Dallas County Hispanics Population (A must see!!)
Dallas County growth map (compare with Hispanic population)

Dallas County Black Population (See whether Hispanics and Blacks mix)

Fact sheet for Hispanic Heritage Month 2001 (Links to many other briefs)
